Sony XEL-1 OLED Television

If you are looking for the next best thing in HDTV, you do not have to wait much longer. Now, there is the new Sony XEL-1 OLED TV, the first widely-available organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV. The thing that we like about the XEL-1 OLED is the fact that it has an enhanced viewing angles, contrast ratio and an even better color reproduction. It has a size of about 11 inches and a native resolution of about 960 x 540.

It is cool and sleek, with a panel measuring up to 3 millimeters thick only. Other prototypes of the OLED are as thin as a parchment paper, but we say that this will do. But if you are thinking this is too thin since there are inputs that measures up to 6 millimeters, then it may help you hat Sony has added a base for it.

The non-detachable base is where the inputs are laid and it is chrome black. In front, there is a row of buttons just as televisions do have. Other than that, it has a tilted hinge which supports the screen. All in all, it measures up to 9.5 inches x 5.1 inches at the base.

The Sony XEL-1 OLED has a Cross Media Bar or XMB menu as that of the PS3. Though it seems fine in the latter, it looks awkward when used in a TV. Just like the typical Sony XMB, it has several vertical selections. Guess this is what we can refer to as a change in scenery. The Sony XEL-1 OLED TV is costs around $2,499.99.
