The Canon Digital IXUS 990 IS digital camera is equipped with a 12 megapixel lens resolution that allows for taking highly detailed images that don’t seem to suffer even when enlarged. A powerful 5x optical zoom allows you to take objects a distance off within the chosen frame range. Its Optical Image Stabilizer feature allows lesser blurring images while zooming in on shots.

The Canon Digital IXUS 990 IS also uses Scene Detection Technology that automatically determines the most perfect settings for different scenes and shooting set ups to optimize quality in between shots. Its Face Detection Technology feature allows the digital camera to recognize at least 35 different faces in a single shot and then automatically adjusts focus, exposure and other essential settings to get optimal results. It is also capable of capturing high definition quality videos that can be played back on HDTV sets while connected using an optional HDMI cable.
