HP Pavillion dv2 AMD Neo Notebook

If you’re looking for a notebook/netbook computer but can only afford a laptop, HP has good news for you.

It has just released its Pavillion dv2 – a comfortable in-between that "packs a powerful performance" but does not lug a lot of weight.

It’s the first computer to use AMD’s Athlon Neo processor, which is created for skinny, lightweight laptops but which also put consumers’ pockets in consideration.

There are three dv2 models; all powered by the 1.6GHz Athlon Neo MV-40 processor. The entry-level dv2-1010ea packs 1GB of memory, 160GB of hard drive storage, is outfitted with ATI Radeon X1250 graphics chip, and runs Windows Vista Home Basic. It costs around £499.

The dv2-1030ea model has a 2GB memory, and a 320GB hard drive. It will set you back around £599.

The supposedly top-of-the line of the Pavillion dv2 series is the dv2-1035ea which packs 4GB of memory and has 500GB hard drive storage. The dv2-1035ea costs around £699.

Both more expensive models are designed with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3410, and runs Vista Home Premium. Both are also designed with an HDMI port. However, except for All three are equipped with 802.11b/g WLAN and Bluetooth. The only downside in these series is their short battery life – 4 hours.

The latest additions to the HP Pavillion dv2 series are your best bet if your looking for reasonably priced, high-quality, and lightweight laptop.
