Acer attempts to hit the mark on why more and more people seem to prefer low-end netbooks over high-performing laptops with the introduction of a new line of Acer Aspire notebooks that contain decent specs for half the price.
The Acer Aspire 5536 (pictured), which costs at $480, is packed with an AMB Athlon 64 X2 processor, 15.6-inch screen, 3GB of DDR2 RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, and 320GB hard drive storage. Meanwhile, the $600 Acer Aspire 7735 comes with a Pentium T4200 processor, 17.3-inch screen, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics, and 250GB hard drive.
The most expensive of these latest releases is the Acer Aspire 5739, which has a Core 2 Duo T6500 processor, 15.6-inch screen, 4GB of RAM, NVIDIA Geforce GT130M graphics with 1GB memory, a 250GB hard drive, and built-in Blu-ray drive-all for $750.
These budget laptops from Acer are available soon in the United States.
