Samsung kicks off the last quarter of the year with the unveiling of two new smartphones in the United States and are now available on Verizon Wireless. The Samsung Rogue and Intensity may look alike at first glance, but there is a telling difference at the surface.
While the Samsung Rogue comes with a 3.1-inch touch screen utilizing Samsung’s TouchWiz interface, Intensity features a standard numeric keypad beneath its 2.1-inch display. Both, however, come with a sliding full alphanumeric keyboard.
Aside from the touch screen, the Samsung Rogue also includes a full Web browser, 3-megapixel camera, 3G (EV-DO), expandable memory, visual voice mail, Bluetooth, speakerphone, personal organizer, and the ability to view files for most Microsoft Office documents. Meanwhile, the Samsung Intensity features a music player, 1.3-megapixel camera, a memory card slot, standard Web browser, as well as messaging and e-mail capabilities. Both models have support for Verizon’s services such as VZ Navigator and V Cast Music.
The Samsung Rogue is available at US$99.99 after rebates, along with a two-year contract. Users who are interested to utilize its data, e-mail and applications can purchase either of its two data plans: $9.99 per month for 25MB, or $19.99 monthly for 75MB. Meanwhile, Samsung Intensity is available at $29.99 after rebates and also comes with a two-year agreement. You can even get yourself a free red-colored Intensity if you applied online.
