You may have heard about gadgets and devices with USB 3.0, but none of them are actually out on the market, except for one. Buffalo boasts that their HD-HU3 series of USB 3.0 hard disk drives are available for retail beginning late October. And because USB 3.0 devices do not work without a supporting controller, your purchase of a Buffalo HD-HU3-if you live in Japan, that is-comes with a IFC-PCIE2U3 two-port PCI Expressx1 host controller from NEC. The 1TB version is expected to cost at 20,000 yen (or about US$225), while the 1.5TB model will cost 25,300 yen ($284), and the 2TB unit will become available later in the year for 46,600 yes (about $523).
