Every PC deserves a rugged counterpart and now it comes with the tablets. Dell releases the Latitude XT2 XFR rugged tablet PC, which is pretty much similar to its existing Latitude XT2.
The similarity is reflected to its 12.1-inch multitouch display and 5GB of RAM, but it also gets its upgrades such as the Core 2 Duo SU9600 processor and a wide range of hot-swappable modules (which will soon include GPS). Curiously though, it comes with just Windows Vista or a downgrade to XP. No signs that it will have Windows 7.
Of course, let us not forget its main selling point in the first place: The ruggedness. The Latitude XFR has been independently tested to meet military and IP54 standards. You can operate this tablet in extreme and challenging conditions including dropping it from up to 3 feet. This rugged tablet is available with your choice of a standard hard drive or SSD for a starting price of US$3,599.
