Sure, Nintendo fanboys may claim that the Nintendo DSi is the superior handheld game console, but how can you appreciate the games if you have to squint your eyes at that tiny screen just to see them?
Finally, that problem has been solved. Nintendo has confirmed that Nintendo DSi will come in a bigger and wider-sized version, which will be called Nintendo DSi LL. If you look at the picture, the white square on the DSi LL’s 4.2-inch screen illustrates the screen size of its smaller DS cousins.
The Nintendo DSi LL comes with all the goodness you get from the smaller DSi, as well as a bigger stylus that almost looks like a pen and a longer battery life compared to the DSi-about 4 to 5 hours on maximum brightness, 11 to 14 hours on minimum settings.
This console will become available in Japan on November 21 for ¥20,000 (US$221). We have yet to hear whether this will come to the United States, but Europe can now rejoice because the Nintendo DSi XL (note the name change) will arrive in the first quarter of 2010.
