HTC is said to release a familiar-sounding mobile phone called the Droid Eris, which will become available right at the heels of Motorola DROID. Although both phones are exclusive to Verizon, it seems that the Motorola phone has been getting all the love even though the Droid Eris costs half the price (US$99 after rebate). Perhaps it is because the HTC Droid Eris runs on Android 1.5 while Motorola DROID comes in 2.0.
But that does not mean the HTC model does not have its advantages. For one, it will come with an auto-focus 5-megapixel camera with video recorder function and WiFi-according to sources over at Engadget.
Let’s see if people will be encouraged to buy it.
