HP has not come out with a smartphone for some time. But on Tuesday, the company announced that it will be releasing its latest smartphone – the HP iPaq Glisten, set to be released "in the coming weeks" for AT&T.
The iPaq Glisten is created specifically for business users. It runs Windowns Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional Edition and sports a 2.5-inch AMOLED touch screen as well as a full QWERTY keyboard. It also has Wi-Fi, Blluetooth capabilities, plus 3G support (UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900/2100), and GPS.
Other less business-y features include a 3.1-megapixel camera with HP Photosmart Mobile software for editing, and a preloaded Facebook app which means you can upload photos directly to the site, or post them on the web via Snapfish.
Other useful features include a Voice Commander software, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 32GB of expandable memory (256MB SDRAM/512MB Flash), and a high-capacity 1590 lithium ion user-replaceable battery.
The iPaq Glisten will be available at AT&T, HP, and 3rd party retailers, around and will cost $229.99 with a two-year contract.
