Other Droid users are getting ready for their handsets to get an upgrade. For instance, Motorola Droid owners have the Android 2.0.1 to look forward to in the coming weeks.
HTC Droid Eris users aren’t as lucky. Droid Eris owners will have to wait until next year for their smartphones to get updated. The Droid Eris currently runs on Android OS 1.5.
According to Verizon, they are planning to release an OS update for the Droid Eris in the first quarter of 2010. The service provider however, did not specify which version of the Android will be released for the Droid Eris. They did say though, that customers will get support for Google Maps and Navigation.
