Pentax Releases Budget Digital Cameras

Pentax unveils three new digital cameras, all of which are priced under US$300. 

The Pentax Optio I-10 (pictured) is styled like classic SLR cameras, with the flash and speaker in the upper middle section and leatherette panel.  It features a 12.1-megapixel high-resolution CCD sensor, a wide-angle, 5X optical zoom lens, a 2.7-inch widescreen LCD, and HD video capture at 720p and 30 frames per second.  Image capture features include image stabilization and anti-blur technologies, smile capture, blink detector, and face detection that can spot up to 32 faces (even dogs and cats).

Meanwhile, the Pentax Optio H90 has a fashionable design reminiscent of modern art and a full assortment of features similar to the Optio I-10 (without the LCD screen).  It comes in Orange-Silver, Matte Black, and Ceramic While.  Both the I-90 and H90 are compatible with the Eye-Fi wireless memory card for instant image uploads without having to remove the memory card or connect to the computer.

Finally, the Pentax Optio E90 has a 10-megapixel CCD sensor, 3X wide-angle zoom, and a 2.7-inch LCD, all housed in a rubberized body for better grip.  Features include an Auto Picture mode that automatically selects the best shooting settings for any scene and a 6400 ISO, ideal for capturing moving subjects.  The Optio E90 comes in Black and Wine Red.

All three cameras are available in February 2010, although pre-orders are now being accepted.  The Pentax Optio I-90 costs US$299.95, the Optio H90 costs $179.95, and the Optio E90 is only $99.95.
