Openmoko has unveiled the latest updates on its WikiReader, a palm-sized device that displays over three million English Wikipedia articles. These updated features include a wider array of scientific wikis, easier navigation, improved scrolling, math equations, and an improved on-screen keypad with animated key presses.
WikiReader lets users browse through different Wikipedia articles anytime and anywhere even without an Internet connection. The latest version of the WikiReader also contains articles about recent events and discoveries like Water on the Moon, Typhoon Ketsana, Treaty of Lisbon, and Windows 7.
Current WikiReader owners can download the updates for free online or they can opt for a US$29 annual upgrade plan wherein Openmoko will mail out updated microSD cards every six months.
