The people of Google have recently provided a video clip to demonstrate their claims that the Chrome is the fastest browser on Earth, but it is funny to see how far they would go to prove their point. Instead on the usual standards and benchmarks, Google test the Chrome browser against fast things: a potato cannon, sound waves, and lightning.
The video shows complex mechanisms wherein the speeds of, for instance, a potato coming out of a cannon and being sliced like french fries is just as fast as Chrome’s website rendering speeds. Note that the sites featured in the video were locally loaded, meaning these were displayed from a cache instead of being displayed right from the Internet, since net speeds vary from one area to another.
Of course, it is unavoidable to debate whether such comparisons should be considered valid, but one thing’s for sure: The Google dudes are a humorous lot.
