Toshiba’s 3D Notebook Now on Sale; More Notebooks Coming Soon

The Toshiba TX/98MBL notebook, the world’s first Bluray-playing 3D notebook, is now on sale. Tagging along are three new 2D models of the 15.6-inch RX3W series (all of which look similar to the photo), which will become available in a few weeks.

The RX3W/9MWMA, the leader of the group, comes with a Core i5-520M CPU, 8GB RAM, a 128GB solid-state drive, 1,366 x 768 resolution, a DVD multi-drive, Bluetooth, WiMAX, and Windows 7 Professional. It will hit the stores around Japan in August, costing US$2,850.

The RX3W/7MW features the same Core i5-520M CPU and other multimedia specs, but with a 4GB RAM and 320GB hard disk drive. Sales for this economical notebook will begin within the month for only $1,700.

Then we have the RX3W/6MW, which has weaker specs like Core i3-350M CPU, 4GB RAM, and 320HDD apart from the similar multimedia specs. This one will arrive also this month for $1,540.

Meanwhile, the Toshiba TX/98MBL 3D notebook is available online on Toshiba Japan’s online store for $2,860. Note that all models are only available in Japan; not sure whether these notebooks will be available overseas.
