Asus has finally revealed the pricing and availability of their upcoming Eee Tablet and Eee Pad (pictured). The iPad-looking Eee Pad will run on Android and cost US$400. Expected launch date will be sometime in March 2011. By that time, another version of the iPad would have come out, we think.
Meanwhile, amidst the speculation that the Eee Tablet may be renamed into Eee Note to avoid confusion with tablet PCs, although it looks like one, the device will be available beginning October 2010 for $300. It features a monochrome LCD screen that runs on a special version of Linux.
But what really captured the interest of many tech bloggers are the upcoming unnamed tablet that will cost $1000 and a dock with station that transforms the tablet into a regular laptop. Another Asus-made tablet, this time powered by ARM and runs on Windows Embedded Compact 7 will sell between $400 and $500.
