Motorola Droid 2 or BlackBerry Torch 9800?

Both of these smartphones launch today. Both of them have a slider design, a touchscreen display, and a physical QWERTY keyboard, but only one of them would have to win your heart. So which one should you choose: The Motorola Droid 2 or the BlackBerry Torch 9800?

The two phones have slight differences apart from the branding. For instance, while the Droid 2 runs on Android 2.2, the Torch is powered by a just-released BlackBerry 6 OS. The Motorola Droid 2 also has 3G mobile hotspot, 5-megapixel camera, DVD-quality video capture, speech-to-text input, and Adobe Flash Player 10.1.

Meanwhile, the Torch 9800 has trackpad-based navigation, built-in GPS, 5-megapixel camera with image stabilizer and auto-focus, WiFi, and removable battery.

Motorola Droid 2 is available on all Verizon retail points for US$199.99 after $100 mail-in rebate and two-year contract, aside from the nationwide talk plan starting at $39.99, the $29.99 charge for unlimited e-mail and web surfing, and optional $20 monthly 3G mobile hotspot service.

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is available on all AT&T retail points, as well as Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and RadioShack. It costs $199.99 with two-year contract, as well as data plan rates of $15 for 200MB of wireless data or $25 for 2GB.
