The Guinness World Records has awarded Microsoft Kinect the distinction for being the fastest-selling consumer device of all time. This comes after over 10 million units of this motion-sensing gaming add-on for Xbox 360 were sold since its launch last November 2010.
The guys on Guinness World Records has also emphasized that Kinect has edged out both the iPhone and iPad to earn the title.
Microsoft has also sold over 10 million Kinect games during the same time period, mainly because every Kinect purchase comes with a game bundled to the package.
This record will be included in the next version of the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition.
