If you remove the 3G and calling capabilities of Samsung Galaxy S smartphone, it actually makes a mean media player.
And that is what Samsung is cooking in not one, but two new media players. The 4-inch Galaxy Player 4 and the 5-inch Galaxy Player 5 both run on Android 2.2 Froyo and can be upgraded into Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Both devices also provide access to Google’s Android Market.
The Samsung Galaxy Player 4 features a stereo speaker, Flash 10.1 support, AllShare support, SoundAlive Sound Engine, GPS, Skype and QiK video call software, a VGA front-facing camera, a 3.2-megapixel back-facing camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a microSD slot. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Player 5 has all the details of its smaller cousin, but without Skype and has flash on its back camera.
The two Samsung Galaxy Players are expected to arrive to the United States this spring.
