Like the Logitech Revue before them, Sony has decided to trim off the price of its Google TV-powered HDTVs, which debuted in October last year. Sony reiterates that the price cut is done not because of upcoming releases of better TV models, but that they just want to capture more market. In other words, “they were too expensive to begin with.”

According to Amazon, and confirmed by Sony, the price cuts range from 30% to 50% depending on the display size. The $1,400 46-inch model, for instance, is dropped to $961, while the 24-inch HDTV is slashed from $600 to $295. You can check out the source link to find out the rest of the new prices.

But will all the flak Google TV has been getting, is it really worth to buy one? TechCrunch thinks you should, especially the 24-inch model, because expect Google TV to get updates in the coming months.
