Buy a Samsung 3D HDTV from Best Buy, Get Free Galaxy Tab 10.1!

This does not look good.

Starting on Sunday, Best Buy is giving away free Galaxy Tab 10.1’s for patrons who buy a top-tier Samsung 3D HDTV that costs $1,500 or $2,000. Buyers can choose either the 46-inch or 55-inch Samsung 3D HDTV. Both models feature LED backlighting, 240Hz motion, and 3D technology (obviously).

Although the promotion sounds like a smart deal, it actually paints a not-so-good picture about the current state of the Android tablet market. Truth of the matter is that many consumers are not buying Android tablets because the iPad is the only tablet they know. The TV-GalTab bundle would at least provide the tablet to a slightly different, a little richer, demographic.

Best Buy may have also realized that it is hard to sell non-iPad tablet, which is why its computer department has been display Android tablets alongside notebooks.

The promotion runs from August 21 through August 27.
