Toy maker WowWee introduces a new line of toys for 2012, which can also be used along with iOS and Android apps. AppGear are collectible action figures–or “AppCessories” as they would like to call it–paired with its own free, downloadable app. This gaming experience mixes augmented reality games with physical toys.
“You fly your toy, play on your phone, using your real world as background. How cool is that,” as stated by a technology expert on WowWee’s press release.
There are six AppGear lines being launched at CES 2012, including Alien Jailbreak, Zombie Burbs, Foam Fighters, and Elite Commander.
The WowWee AppGears are expected to cost between $9.99 and $19.99 depending on the particular toy.
