Apart from the US-bound Galaxy Note, Samsung is also set to offer a new line of ultrabooks during its CES 2012 show. The Samsung Series 9 sports a 15-inch screen on a 14-inch body.
How a screen that large can fit into a smaller body? It is all about semantics, really. Traditionally, a laptop with 15-inch form factor means that it has a 15-inch screen plus half an inch or so for the bezel. What Samsung is trying to say is that the Series 9 ultrabooks will be coming with narrower bezels to match a 14-inch model.
This would be the second generation of Samsung Series 9 notebooks, which are said to be as thin as tablets even when closed. They are 30% smaller than their predecessors, weigh 2.5 pounds, and measure at about 0.5 inch in thickness.
These ultrabooks come with InstantOn, enabling them to boot up completely in under 10 seconds, wake up in just 1.4 seconds, and last for up to 10 hours.
Like other Samsung products shown in CES 2012, still no word about the availability, but we will keep you posted.
