The Samsung SUR40 touch-table, which has been demonstrated to the public for over a year, is being shipped out this month. If you have shelled out $8,400 to have your very own touch-sensitive work table, then expect one to arrive on your doorstep soon.
This device is an improved version of the original Surface, a product of a Microsoft-Samsung collaboration. It is flatter, lighter, wall-mountable, and comes with 1,080p resolution. Samsung SUR40 also has “PixelSense” technology, consisting of tiny, light-detecting sensors built in between pixels. These sensors detects the user’s touch, not the capacitive or resistive sensors traditionally found in touch screens. The PixelSense also reads things like QR codes, hand gestures, and even text.
You could still pre-order for your very own Samsung SUR40 at its webpage. If you find the price way to hefty, there are cheaper alternatives.
