Archos Platinum

Archos gave a teaser of its Platinum line of tablets during the IFA last month, and now the company surprises us with not only one, but three new Archos Platinum tablets.

The three models differ in size: an 8-inch, a 9.7-inch, and a 10.1-inch tablet. All versions sport 1.6GHz quad-core processors, high-resolution IPS touchscreens, dual-band WiFi, 8GB built-in internal storage, Bluetooth, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The 8-inch Archos Platinum model comes with 1024 x 768 screen resolution, while the 9.7-inch and 10.1-inch variants have 2048 x 1536 and 1280 x 800, respectively. The smallest among the three tablets also sports 1GB of DDR3 RAM while the bigger slabs have 2GB each.

The 10.1-inch Archos Platinum is also equipped with GPS and a 2-megapixel camera on the front, both of which are absent on its smaller cousins (settling on a 0.3-megapixel front-facing shooter instead).

Other specs all three tablets share are a mini HDMI output, microUSB port, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headset jack, and a 2-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The Archos Platinum tablets are priced competitively, with the 8-inch model retailing at $199.99, the 9.7-inch costs $269.99, and the 10.1-inch version for $299.99.
