One look at the PlayTomato Video Touch video and music player and you’ll easily be reminded of the Apple iPod Touch. Recently released the in the Korean market, the PlayTomato Video Touch is another one of those competing portable gadgets created to resemble some of Apple’s bestselling product designs. Despite the similarities in appearance, the PlayTomato Video Touch is mostly intended for the low-end market.

With its features, the PlayTomato Video Touch can easily be called a mini version of the iPod Touch. The Video Touch has a smaller 2.5-inch touchscreen, compared to the iPod Touch’s 3.5 inch screen size. The QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) has a lower screen resolution with 260,000 colors, almost similar with many new cell phones. There are two versions of the player to choose from, the 2 GB and 4 GB memory capacities.

The Video Touch can play all music format – Mp3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, Monkey Audio APE and also Apple’s AAC format audio files. In addition, it can play MPEG4 and AVI videos. The device works well for both Mac and PC users.

The PlayTomato Video Touch is really just an iPod Touch look-alike. With its small size and downgraded specifications, the Video Touch comes in cheaper, almost just a quarter of the market price of the iPod Touch. The 2GB version has a price tag of US$63 while the 4 GB version sells for only US$84 in the Korean market.
