The Samsung Galaxy S[2], renamed Captivate for AT&T[3], will be available on the network beginning July 18, costing US$199 on contract with no rebate required.

The pricing is in competitions with T-Mobile[4] launch of the same handset, which they renamed Vibrant. And it seems that the Vibrant will be launched on July 15, three days ahead of AT&T’s.

The Samsung Galaxy S, or Captivate, or Vibrant, comes with a 5-megapixel camera (with autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, and face/ smile detection), a multimedia player, and runs on Android 2.1.
