Philips Android powered TV sets

Philips has announced two new Android powered TV sets, namely the 8109 and the 8209. These gadgets receive the Google seal of approval, which means users can access Google Play to download apps and turn the TV into a gaming device or even a Google TV. The television sets, which sport full HD 1080p resolution and run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, come in varying sizes from 48 to 55 inches.

The downside is its pretty low 2.7GB storage, but users can settle for cloud storage services such as Dropbox and Google Drive or USB flash drives. The company claims both their Android powered TV sets come with support for converting the apps into HD mode

Philips latest television line will reportedly be available in Russia first, rolling eventually in Europe and other parts of the globe soon (except for the United Kingdom). The company, however, stopped short into revealing the actual release date and pricing details.
